FEBRUARY (Subat,
shoo-BAHT)
Rainy,
chilly and cheerless, but there's skiing on
Mount Uludag near Bursa,
Mount Erciyes near Kayseri,
and Palandöken near Erzurum.
In Istanbul and
the other big cities, museums may
be redoing some of their exhibits,
some small hotels may be closed for
renovations, but there will be plenty
that's open and good
to
see
and do.
And
there
will be no crowds!
The
tourist crowds are light. Very light.
February
is forbiddingly cold, snowy and icy
in eastern
Turkey, but it's not a
bad month to visit the Southeast,
which is chilly now but blazing hot
in summer.
