The famous Irish rock band U2 will give a concert in Istanbul on September 6, 2010 during their U2 360° Tour.

The concert will be held in Istanbul's Atatürk Olympic Stadium (map), 23 km (14 miles) northwest of Sultanahmet in Istanbul's western suburbs.

The drive from Sultanahmet or Taksim Square to Atatürk Olympic Stadium normally takes about an hour due to traffic along the 0-3 Europe Autoroute (Avrupa Otoyolu), and may take more than that on the day of the concert.

The best way to get to the concert would be with an experienced local driver. Backpackers Travel, which operates the excellent private airport transfer services to and from Istanbul's airports, is also operating private transfers from the Istanbul city center to the concert and return. If you really want to enjoy the entire day, it's an excellent, value-for-money way to go. More...

The nearest suburban train (banliyö treni) station is at Halkalı, the end of the suburban train line from Sirkeci Station.
