The variety is amazing! Everything from historic, museum-quality
Ottoman necklaces to traditional gold,
diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and contemporary,
state-of-the-art modernist pieces in
silver, gold and precious stones.
Istanbul's Grand
Bazaar has several
streets devoted to jewelry, and Nuruosmaniye
Caddesi, the street east of the bazaar
on the way to Sultanahmet, is lined
with more jewelry shops, as are the
side streets off of Nuruosmaniye (Design
Zone, for example).
The Egyptian (Spice) Market now has
several jewelry stores as well, as
does Beyoglu's Istiklal Caddesi.
In fact, in any town of any size in
Turkey—and certainly in all covered
bazaars—there will be jewelry
shops. But the best variety is likely
to be in Istanbul.
