Survivors Much of Afyon was destroyed in the fierce battles leading up to the final Turkish republican victory in the War of Independence. Luckily, some districts survived the carnage. On a bright spring morning I saw this street of old houses and couldn't resist a photo. Then I went down to breakfast with fresh, hot tea and some of Afyon's ambrosial clotted cream. |
