The Alaettin Mosque crowns Alaettin (Aladdin) Hill in the center of Konya. On the side of the hill are the sheltered minimal remains of the palace of the Seljuk Sultans of Rum. Beneath the mosque are probably artifacts going back to the Stone Age.
