The imposing silhouette of the Süleymaniye
Mosque (the
Mosque of Sultan Süleyman
the Magnificent) dominates
the southern shore of the Golden
Horn in Istanbul,
but it's easily transcended
by this soaring seagull.
In the lower left part of the
scene is the New Mosque(Yeni
Cami) in Eminönü,
and in the lower right—just
barely visible—is the Rüstem
Pasha Mosque (with a
sheen of sunlight on the left
side of its dome.
Moored along the quai are several Istanbul
ferries, ready to steam
you off to other parts of the
city, or up the Bosphorus.
