Gümbet is the
next bay (and town) to the west over
the hill and beyond the windmills from
Bodrum.
Once just an alternative beach for
visitors to Bodrum, Gümbet is
now a seaside resort destination in
its own right.
The town of Gümbet has
its own hotels—dozens of them—as
well as holiday villas, shops, restaurants
and other services.
You really don't
need to leave Gümbet during
your holiday here, but of course most
people spend some time in Bodrum and
take excursions to other towns around
the Bodrum peninsula such as Turgutreis,
Yalikavak and Türkbükü.
Gümbet's beach is
actually better—longer and wider—than
the smaller beaches in Bodrum proper,
but the town of Gümbet lacks Bodrum's
antique charm (not to mention its antique
monuments).
Inexpensive
holidays to Gumbet
bring many visitors.
