The towns near Ephesus have a good
selection of large and small hotels,
and lots of comfortable, congenial little pensions to
serve travelers coming to visit the ruins.
Selçuk,
the farming town 3 km (2 miles) from
the Ephesus
archeological site, has some
convenient small hotels and pensions
if your prime interest is in visiting
the ruins.
The most charming boutique
hotels and inns, and certainly the most pleasant
surroundings, are in the hill village
of Şirince, 8 km (5
miles) east of Selçuk. More...
If you favor large, modern four- and
five-star resort hotels, there are
plenty of them in Kuşadası,
the cruise-ship port and seaside resort
town 18 km (11 miles) southwest of Ephesus,
readily accessible by frequent, inexpensive
minibus. But Kuşadası also has one
of the region's most pleasant and congenial boutique
hotels, an oasis of calm right
in the midst of the bustling port town.
A refuge from the madness of the world,
a beautiful, tranquil
inn amidst the olive and fruit trees
of Şirince. More...
The "Mansions of the Marquise" in Şirince are
different: antiques, objets d'art,
fine fabrics and visual interest everywhere,
including in the panoramic views of
town and countryside. More...
A small hotel
with lots of atmosphere, convenient
location, a variety of air-conditioned
rooms, swimming pool, and
a good dining room serving
produce from the hotel's own garden. More...

Pensions
From simple rooms in private
homes to feature-laden budget hotels
for backpackers, these run the gamut.
