Hotels in İzmir, Turkey's third largest
city, span the gamut from simple and
cheap to 5-star luxury.
For thrifty travelers, the area around
Basmane
Station at the eastern
end of Fevzipaşa Bulvarı (map) is
a great place to stay, with at least
two dozen small hotels
right near this important transport
point.
Bigger 4- and 5-star hotels
such as the Izmir Hilton and Swissotel
Grand Efes Hotel are located
near Cumhuriyet Meydanı (Republic Square).
The smallest, cheapest hotels and
guesthouses are mostly located near
Basmane station and on and off Anafartalar
Caddesi in Izmir's interesting bazaar:
