Köse Pansiyon has been a mainstay in Göreme for decades, a comfortable small hotel with a swimming pool and good meals at backpacker prices.

Owners Dawn and Mehmet Köse (that's KUR-seh; she's British, he's Turkish) have been hosting travelers in Göreme since the 1970s. They know how to make you feel at home.

Sleeping on the sheltered roof in your own sleeping bag is the best way to stay here cheaply, but if you prefer comfort, ask for one of the guest rooms with private bath.

Good home-cooked meals are served at very reasonable prices, and a large serving of travelers' camaraderie is included at no additional cost.

The Köse Pansiyon is near the PTT (Post Office) on the road to Avanos, an easy downhill walk from Göreme's bus station, and only about 15 minutes' walk from the Göreme Valley.
