Alkabris is a quiet refuge away from the madding tourist crowds that sometimes throng other Cappadocian towns.

Not only is Alkabris located in relatively quiet Ortahisar, but it's in a residential neighborhood across a shallow valley from the main part of the town.

Alkabris enjoys fine views of the natural stone "castle" at the town center, and of Mount Erciyes, the lofty snow-capped volcano in the far distance.

It also enjoys the peace and quiet that comes from being away from the bustle.

When you stay here, you're only a 10-minute (300-meter) walk to the center of Ortahisar if you want some action, but most of the time you'll just want to relax in Alkabris's cool cave rooms. There are only five of them, so you probably won't be disturbed by the other guests.

Rather, you'll gather for a cup of tea or coffee, or a glass of wine, under the grape arbor overlooking the valley, and find that the few other discerning international travelers who have chosen Alkabris may provide stimulation rather than annoyance.

Alkabris has a nice cave restaurant-dining room for those occasions when you'd rather gather or dine indoors.

Contact one of my recommended travel agencies such as Argeus, Rock Valley, Travel Atelier, or Turkish Heritage to make reservations.
