Konya does not have as
many good hotels as it should. It is
an important commercial, touristic
and pilgrimage city, but its hotels
are too few.
That having been said, you should
not have a problem finding a good room
if you plan ahead and reserve your
room in advance. The exception is
in the first half of December during
the Seb-i
Aruz commemoration
of Mevlâna
Jelaleddin Rumî, when all
of Konya's
hotels will be fully booked well in
advance.

Rixos
Konya
The most luxurious hotel in Konya—and
indeed in the entire region—provides
all the five-star luxuries,
comforts, services and style you'd
expect, in a hilltop location 17 km
(10.6 miles) northwest of the city
center next to Selçuk
University.
It used to be a Hilton...

Dedeman Konya
Konya's newest luxury hotel is closer
to the center than the Rixos, a short
ride (but still a long walk) to the Mevlana
Museum and the Mevlana
Cultural Center.
With up-to-the-minute comforts and
conveniences, it's a welcome addition
to Konya's lodgings. More...
Hotel
Balikçilar
A long-time tourist favorite, the Balikçilar
is right across the street from the
Mevlana
Museum (Rumi's
tomb) in the center of Konya.
It provides adequate comfort and services
at somewhat elevated
prices in a very convenient location.

Hotel Rumi
Almost as convenient as the Balikçilar
is the smaller Hotel Rumi on the opposite
(north) side of the Mevlana
Museum, pretty much just across
the street from the museum complex.
It's new, it's nice, with the standard
3-star hotel comforts including elevator,
rooftop terrace dining room with a
view of the Mevlana
Museum, and free Wifi wireless
Internet connection throughout the
hotel. More...
Hotel
Selçuk
Completely renovated within the last
few years, the Hotel Selçuk has
the advantage of being very near the Alaettin
Mosque, Great
Karatay Medresesi and
Ince
Minare Medrese, yet a short block
off of the main street, Mevlâna
Caddesi, and thus less subject to traffic
noise. More...
Hotel Bera
On the main street (Mevlâna Caddesi)
right in the center of Konya, the Bera
is a good choice except for the possibility
of traffic noise. Easy walking distance
to both the Mevlana
Museum to the east and the Alaettin
Mosque to the west. More...
Actually, the easiest way to find
a good hotel in Konya (and
what I do) is to contact Argeus
Tourism & Travel. They
know all the good hotels, can negotiate
good rates.
Indeed, they can also help
with any other travel arrangements
you may need in Konya, Cappadocia, Pamukkale, Antalya,
and in fact anywhere in Turkey. If
you're driving or traveling by bus,
train and plane from Istanbul to
Cappadocia, Konya, Antalya, Pamukkale
and/or Ephesus, Argeus can
set everything up for you.
