What started out as a woody, old-fashioned
European-style cafe has now moved upscale
to include a California-style nouvelle
cuisine menu for candlelit suppers.
The cafe's name, K.V. (pronounced keh-VEH in
Turkish) is a pun on kahve (coffee).
The various interior rooms are where
everyone sites in winter, but in good
weather the choice tables are outdoors
in the Tünel Pasaji, fixed up
with a proliferation of potted plants
and trees.
K.V. is popular with
a fairly well-to-do crowd that can
afford the rather high prices: about
YTL10
for a hot drink and a slice of cake,
about YTL40 per person for dinner.
The cafes, art galleries and restaurants
of Sofyali Sokak are just at the other
end of the passageway.
