This bus ride along
the European
(western) shore of the Bosphorus takes
just over two hours (127 minutes
average time)
from Sariyer,
near the northern end of the Bosphorus,
and Eminönü by
the Galata
Bridge over the Golden
Horn. Here's
what to see along the way.
Boldface departures
are probably the ones you want if you've
come to Sariyer by traditional Bosphorus
ferry cruise.
NOTE: the departures
underlined and in RED go
south from
Sariyer along
the
Bosphorus shore
through Büyükdere,
Tarabya and
Yeniköy, as
far as Istinye,
then head inland,
up into the hills away from
the shore,
coming down to the shore again at Besiktas (north
of Dolmabahçe
Palace), so if
you plan to stop at Rumeli
Hisari fortress and/or Ortaköy, do
not take one
of the underlined
RED departures.
