Cosmopolitan Park Hotel,
at Kutlugün
Sokak No. 26, Sultanahmet, Istanbul,
has several unique advantages:
— It is on the quiet end of
a quiet street only a few steps from
the Hippodrome, Blue
Mosque and Ayasofya.
— It faces east, and because
the area across the street is part
of the Byzantine Megara Palace, nothing
will be built there, so the hotel's
view of the Bosphorus will never be
obscured.
— It's operated by Mr
Kamil Yildirim, brother of Mr Dogan Yildirim
of the nearby Terrace
Guesthouse, so
Kamil Bey benefits from his brother's
expertise in hotel operation and guest
satisfaction.
— The entire hotel is non-smoking.
The views from the six front guest
rooms are very good, but if your room
is
on the other side of the building,
don't despair. Those rooms get the
afternoon sun, and the two open-air
roof terraces have even higher
views
of the
Bosphorus, the
Sea
of Marmara, and excellent
views
of the Blue
Mosque and Ayasofya as
well. You climb for the views: there
is not yet an elevator/lift, though
Kamil Bey has plans for one.
The Cosmopolitan Park's location
couldn't be better:
literally around the corner from the
Blue
Mosque,
less than three minutes' easy walk
to the Hippodrome and Ayasofya,
and only another few minutes's walk
to Topkapi
Palace.
If the Cosmopolitan Park Hotel,
is fully booked, you might find a room
at the Terrace
Guesthouse just down the
street.
