The new Four Seasons Hotel
Istanbul at the Bosphorus is
a 19th-century Ottoman building
(the Atik Pasha Mansion) that's been
restored, modernized, and matched
with two new but harmonious buildings
to form the hotel. It's due to open
in July 2008.
It promises to be a worthy adjunct
of its renowned sister hotel,
the Four
Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet,
with 166 guest rooms (of
which 28 are suites), all with flat-screen
HDTVs and wired and wireless high-speed
Internet connections. Most rooms
have oblique Bosphorus views.
Facilities include Turkish and Mediterranean
restaurants with Bosphorus views, a
lobby lounge, spa with hamam, heated
outdoor swimming pool with whirlpool,
pool-side terrace and grill, a private
dock, two ballrooms, six function rooms
and a Wedding Garden.
Located north of Besiktas on
the European
Bosphorus shore, it's
only a short walk from Yildiz
Palace and Park, the Çiragan
Palace Kempinski Hotel Istanbul, and
the ferry docks at
Besiktas.
The fashionable Ortaköy district
is just a short ride north along
the Bosphorus shore.
Just a bit farther along is Rumeli
Hisari fortress.
