The Divan
Oteli is a small European-style hotel
with excellent cuisine and near-perfect
personal service by well-trained
multilingual staff.
Few
of its 177 rooms have Bosphorus views,
and the hotel has no grounds to speak
of, but the location is good:
right next to the Hyatt
Regency, across the street from
the Ceylan
Inter-continental, and a five-minute
walk from Taksim
Square to the south and the Istanbul

particularly like the Turkish
cuisine in the Divan
Lokantasi (formal restaurant)
and Divan Pub (informal),
and the appealing pastries in the Divan
Pastanesi (pastry shop).
The
hotel, flagship of a Turkish chain,
is owned and run by the Koç Group,
one of Turkey's most prominent international
holding companies.
