The Divan
Oteli is a small European-style hotel
with excellent cuisine and near-perfect
personal service by well-trained
multilingual staff.
It is currently closed for
renovation and scheduled to reopen early
in 2011.
Few
of its 177 rooms have Bosphorus views,
and the hotel has no grounds to speak
of, but the location is good:
right next to the Hyatt
Regency, across the street from
the Ceylan
Inter-continental, and a five-minute
walk from Taksim
Square to the south and the Istanbul

It's easy to reserve
a value-priced private airport
transfer to the hotel
in a Mercedes-Benz vehicle
that costs only slightly more than
a taxi,
and significantly less than two taxis
(which you'll need if you have 4+
people and/or lots of luggage), and far
