the heart of Beyoğlu's
boutique, restaurant, cafe and music
club district.
This is not an area with a lot of
hotels, and it is certainly not a tourist
area. Rather, it's the heart of young,
vibrant, active Istanbul, with student
couples and professionals strolling
along pedestrian-only Istiklal
Caddesi,
matrons shopping for clothing and accessories,
business executives moving from the
offices and banks to the Briths Consulate-General
just off the square.
There are more hotels in nearby areas
such as Tepebaşı and Tünel Square.
