Istanbul's
4-star Hotel Aziyadé is
named for the female Turkish lover
in Pierre Loti's 19th-century romantic
novel entitled Aziyadé.
The modern hotel, located on Pierre
Loti Caddesi (map),
does a good job of reviving the romance
of the Aziyadé tale,
and as you sit in the Oriental
Corner sipping a cup of Turkish
coffee, it's easy to recall
the romance of late Ottoman times:

Besides the romantic reasons
to stay here, there are good and
practical ones:
—Located on the way from Divan
Yolu to Kadırga,
it has a fairly convenient location,
with the sights of Sultanahmet, Divan
Yolu and the Grand
Bazaar only a few
minutes' walk away.
—The 105 comfortable guest
rooms (some non-smoking)
have private
bathrooms (all with bathtub and shower,
central air conditioning, satellite
TV and radio, minibar, and free Wifi.
Hairdryers are available.
—Room rates are significantly more
advantageous than those at many other
hotels close to Sultanahmet.
—Hotel staff are
noted for their friendliness and helpfulness.
—The terrace restaurant and
cocktail bar on the
top floor are quite good, with indoor
and outdoor seating, and panoramic
views of the Sea
of Marmara, as well
as:

—A private Turkish bath (hamam) and
sauna are available for guests' use.
—Free Wifi, and an Internet Corner
with a computer for guests' use, complimentary,
of course.
—a Lobby Bar for sipping and people-watching
When you contact
the Hotel Aziyadé,
be sure to ask about special
offers, packages and promotions,
which change with the seasons. Also
be sure to mention
