Some small hotels and pensions are in
the town center, within walking distance
of everything. The larger hotels tend
to be farther from the center, requiring
transport in many cases.
The hotels on the Çukurbağ Peninsula,
jutting into the Mediterranean, have
particularly good positions for panoramic views of
Meis Adası/Megisti—see the photo below.
They usually have some way of reaching
the sea, usually steps and swimming
platforms, for those times when the hotel's
swimming pool seems too tame.
But their position on Çukurbağ means
that you are at the mercy of public
transport if you don't have your own
vehicle.
