Although they welcome inquiries about schedulingand availability of their services, they expect to be paidwhen they provide tourism information. Also, if you reserve a guide’s time in advance, you may be asked to arrange credit card payment at the time of reservation, just as for a hotel room, rental car, or flight. Hello! I’m Mehmet Tetik…

I have been working in Istanbul and travelling in Turkey quite a lot. In my 14 years as a tour guide, I have been to every province in Turkey and have seen most of the main tourist sites as well as those off the beaten track.

I specialise in Istanbul, especially Byzantine sights, (churches converted to mosques, palaces, cisterns, city walls and columns), religious sites (churches, synagogues and Jewish sites), and the islands in the Sea of Marmara.

I enjoy taking visitors on specialized tours of religious sites such as Ephesus, Alasehir (Philadelphia), Bergama(Pergamon), İzmir (Smyrna), MiletusTarsus and Antakya(Antioch).

I especially enjoy walking and trekking
in the Old City and Galata districts of Istanbul.

I have guided Tauck tours from the United States, as well as private guidance of small groups, families, business travelers, etc., including gay men and women.

I am a native of Istanbul, married, with one child (a daughter).
