Izmir Airport to Selcuk

Hi

I am assuming that the new trains are now running on the upgraded track and wonder if anyone has the timetable?

I will be arriving at Izmir airport at 20.05 in a couple of weeks and am hoping to catch a train straight to Selcuk.

Looks like the last train is at 19:30. There used to be a Göller Ekspres that departed at 21:30ish but it seems to have disappeared (probably because it can no longer reach the göller because of the rail works east of Aydın).

I was rather hoping that the 21.30 from Izmir would stop at the airport but I guess not!!!

Hello,
Best way is - Take a 2 minute taxi to the main road off the airport, then, take a Dolmus (Mini-bus) for 50 minutes at price of 8YTL to Selcuk. From Selcuk you can easily connect with another mini-bus for an 8 minutes ride to Ephesus at 4YTL.

There is now an improved rail service from Izmir Airport to Selçuk but it is not frequent with only 4 or 5 trains a day. It used to take more than an hour but it is less than 1 hour now. There are also a lot of trains from the city centre to the airport (20 minutes) now the work on the railway has been completed.
I'll find the times and post those too, but the times change often.

The times are here - not a great deal of choice on trains to Selçuk but if you can get there at the right time it is by far the easiest way, and definitely the cheapest. It is also the cheapest and probably the fastest way into Izmir if the times are right. The trains are brand new and fast, but may be crowded.
