Tips, comments and warnings for women traveling in Turkey.

I will be traveling with my husband and our young daughter to Turkey during the first two weeks in September. We are both runners, but when we travel we have to take turns. I usually go running at 7am. I find it a good way to not only exercise but also get to know a place in a different way. Since I am a woman, I always try to be extra careful where I run, etc. From what I've read, it seems that in Istanbul if I wear shorts and a tee-shirt I should be okay to run along the Bosphorus dressed this way. We are staying in Sultanahmet. We are also going to Selcuk, Pamukkale and Fethiye. I'm not sure if I should wear running tights. I'd rather wear shorts because it will be quite hot to run in tights during this time. My shorts go to a little lower than mid thigh and are not short shorts; they are similar to biking shorts. Any suggestions? of course, I'd rather be hot than to be unsafe and I'd rather not give up my runs while on vacation... Thank you!
