Antalya- hotel choice and what to do

We have to drop our car off in Antalya Oct.2 and plan to take overnight bus to Goreme on the 3rd- a choice for hotel or pension for the night and suggestions for what to see in such a short time.
Also any ideas for getting from Kaleici to the bus station. Many thanks

Also any ideas for getting from Kaleici to the bus station

Either ask your hotel to give you directions by bus or to make it easier...just take a taxi to the bus station..

suggestions for what to see in such a short time.

you dont have much time so just stick to the historical areas around the Kaleiçi...if you have a bit more time you can maybe take a few hours at the Antalya museum

May I ask from which direction that you are planning to drive from to Antalya ??? do you plan to visit Cirali or Phaselis..southwest from Antalya about 1 hour ??

Thanks Carrie- actually I had narrowed the choice down to White Garden and La Paloma- is one in a better area?
We are traveling down the coast from Izmir. We arrive Selchuk on the 25th and have the car for a week. We are open and not sure of where to stop on the way down to Antalya - as of now we thought of Daylan, Fethyie and Kas - really would like some help to decide and ideas of reasonable places to stay. We will plan to stop in Cirali for the night of Octobe 1-
thanks for any and all help - by the way, we are active seniors and are preparing a class on Turkey for our Senior Center -we love to wander and meet people and learn, thus travel on our own.

I would suggest a bit of a diversion, and you do have time, just, to fit this in.

What about missing the coast road for the western end of your route and instead, heading inland to fit in Aphrodisias and Pamukkale, then dropping down through the mountains to the coast at Fethiye.
It is not far to drive westward along the coast road to see Gocek and Dalyan, before proceding eastwards for the coast road towards Kas. Just a thought and there are loads of earlier postings with ideas for routes and possible places to stay. Should this option interest you, come back to the forum and I'm sure there will be members ready to 'bump up' old postings (thanks Carrie for this term!)

either is fine..however the White Garden is more budget or basis accommodations whereas the La Paloma is more mid-range..it will depending on you..

If you enjoy the more traditional villages over the more touristy resorts I would recommend that you might want to stay about 1-2 nights in Selcuk to visit the area and a trip to Sirince as well..and from driving down to the coast you might also want to consider the "ghost village" of Kaya Koyu also very near to Fethiye and Olu Deniz..you could stop off along the way at Kas for lunch before continuing on to Cirali perhaps..if you do decide to stay in Kas for a night or 2 you might want to take a boat trip to the Kekova island an visit the sunken city of Simena..

to drive from Fethiye to Kas is about 2.5 hours..and then from Kas to Cirai another 2.5 hours..

I would also like to say that just one night only in Cirali is hard pressed and very rushed to try and see all the sights...you are better with a minimum of 2 nights or 3...you will need time to visit the ruins of Olympos along the beach and as well possibly time to visit the Chimaera in the evening...to do all of this within one nights stay is very rushed and tiring. You would benefit by staying a bit longer in Cirali if your plans allow.

I would think about trying this..2 nights in Selcuk followed by 2 nights in Kaya Koyu and then 2 nights in Cirali..

just a thought..you dont want to be rushing around the coast...take some time out to really appreciate each area..or the entire trip will be more of a blur
