Konaklı Ski Resort,
18 km (11 miles) southwest of Erzurum
in eastern Turkey (map),
is the area's newest ski resort.
Six chairlifts, trails
and other infrastructure are
ready now. Hotels will follow, so for
the time being, you'll lodge in Erzurum
or at Palandöken.
Erzurum's traditional ski resort, Palandöken,
already has all facilities and hotels
in place, so that's your first choice,
though Konaklı is the up-and-coming
destination.
