Why use Venere to
make
hotel reservations in
Turkey? Why not make the reservations
yourself?
The reasons are: ease,
and preferential
bulk rates.
Venere's hotel selection is particularly
good for well-located 3-star
hotels from TL75
to TL125 per
night, and 4-star
hotels for about TL150.
Hotel reservations services such as
Venere, an affiliate
partner of TurkeyTravelPlanner.com, negotiate
preferential rates from many hotels.
In effect, they are
"buying hotel room-nights wholesale"
by offering to bring thousands of travelers
to these hotels.
This gives Venere power
to negotiate
good rates from
the hotels it features on its service.
Despite its clout in the marketplace,
Venere is a small company (which
I prefer).
Its people work hard
to find good deals. Its
website interface is
helpful, with maps showing the district
in which a hotel
is located, and reviews of
its hotels by guests who have stayed there.
Hotels want, above all, to
minimize the number
of
nights
a
hotel room stays empty, because
an empty hotel room earns exactly
$0. It's better
to
have
rooms
filled
at half price than to have rooms empty.
With a guest in the room, even at a
discounted rate, the hotel will earn
some money to cover expenses,
and hotel
guests
may use other services, such as restaurants
and bars. The more guests the better.
Satisfied guests recommend the hotel
to other travelers.
So you may find that the room rate
you get through Venere may be lower
than the one you could get by making
the reservation yourself.
Shopping around and comparing rates
is always a good idea,
but if you spend too much time shopping,
the time you
lose may cancel out any small monetary
saving. If you find a good room rate,
take it. Avoid spending hours just
to save an additional small amount.
If there is high demand for
hotel rooms, as there is at holiday
times
and in the high summer tourism
season,
getting a discounted rate may not be
an option. You may have trouble finding
any room at all, in which case you
should grab the best room you can find
at a rate you can afford.
Venere and other hotel reservation
services do not necessarily negotiate
agreements with all hotels. There are
too many hotels, some may not be suitable,
and some may already have signed plenty
of agreements with other services.
If you're looking for a particular
hotel, you may or may not find that
Venere has an agreement with that hotel.
