This tour by Backpackers
Travel is perhaps the
easiest, thriftiest (€20)
half-day (4-hour) program to take you
on a 1-1/2-hour TurYol
Bosphorus cruise and
to introduce you to the Golden
Horn districts of Eminönü and Galata
(Karaköy) (map).
The tour van picks you up from your
hotel after lunch and takes you to
Eminönü
on the Golden Horn, where you visit
the Egyptian (Spice) Bazaar before
boarding a TurYol
boat for your Bosphorus
cruise.
After the cruise returns, you stroll
across Galata
Bridge to Karaköy
Square (Galata),
then ride the historic Tünel underground
train up to Tünel
Square, then walk
downhill to Galata Tower.
(The admission
fee for the tower is not included in
the tour price, but you can pay the
admission fee, enter the tower and
ascend to the top for the view if you
wish.)
You walk downhill through the historic
narrow streets of the Galata
district to Karaköy
Square, where the tour van
meets you and returns you to your hotel.
Here are details of the tour. For
