Both car and passenger
ferries run
daily between Turkey's Mediterranean
coast and the port of Girne (Kyrenia)
in northern (Turkish) Cyprus.
Most service is to and from Taşucu,
the small port near Silifke,
east of Alanya and
west of Adana
on the Turkish Med coast. In summer,
additional catamaran passenger ferries
operate to and from Alanya (3-1/2
hours).
You can travel to/from both
Taşucu and Alanya by bus.
The nearest airport and train station
for Tasucu are at Adana.
For Alanya,
the nearest airport is
Antalya
Airport.
Fast
catamaran passenger ferries ("sea
bus") depart Girne for
Taşucu every morning at 09:30 am, and depart
Taşucu for
Girne at 11:30 am. The
voyage takes about two hours and
costs about TL68
one-way,
or TL115
round-trip, per
person, taxes included. Discounts are
offered for students and children
7 to 12 years of age (kids six and
younger float free).
Slower car ferries depart
Girne at 12:00 noon daily
except Sunday, and depart Taşucu at
24:00 midnight daily except Friday.
The voyage takes
four or five hours. Passengers pay
slightly less than on the fast catamaran
passenger ferry. Cars cost
TL150,
small trucks cost TL180,
each way (no reduction for round-trip
ticket purchase).
For further information and reservations,
your best source is probably Feribot.net:

Akgünler
Shipping has a useful website,
but that of the Fergün
Shipping Company (Fergün
Denizcilik) seems to be in Turkish
only, and may not be up to date.
