Fast car ferries operated
by İstanbul
Deniz Otobüsleri A Ş (known as
İDO,
pronounced "EE-doh") speed
between Istanbul's Yenikapı
Feribot Terminalı
and Yalova
on the south shore of the Sea
of Marmara at least
five times daily, making the voyage
in 80 minutes connecting Istanbul with
towns in the Aegean
region (map),
especially Bursa.
From Yalova you
can take a bus (every
20 minutes, TL12,
55 km/34 mi, less than an hour) to
Bursa's
main bus terminal. From the
bus terminal you can take a city bus
or taxi to the city center (30 to 45
minutes). More...
(Note that the Istanbul
(Yenikapı)—Bursa (Güzelyalı)
fast ferry
gets you to Bursa faster than the Istanbul—Yalova
Ferry because the land distance is
shorter, and you ride the Bursaray—Bursa's
metro—to
the city center, avoiding gridlocked
traffic; but there are fewer Istanbul—Bursa
ferries.

Fares are priced dynamically, like
airfares, meaning that fares purchased
in advance, or for less popular sailings,
may be lower, and those purchased at
the last minute, or for popular departures
(such as on weekends and holidays),
may be higher.
You can make
reservations and buy
your ferry tickets online,
in English. Click here!

traveling and don't have a computer
printer, don't worry:
you can print your ticket purchased
online at the İDO
ferry terminal using a service called IDOmatik.
There are snack bars serving snacks,
sandwiches, hot beverages and soft
drinks on board the vessels.
