The Izmir Mavi
Tren (MAH-vee trehn, "Izmir
Blue Train") departs Ankara and Izmir (Basmane)
just after 18:00 (6 pm) daily and
arrives in the opposite city about
14 hours
later around 08:00 (8 am)
The train hauls Pullman
cars, sleeping
cars, and a dining car.
A one-way/single ticket costs
YTL21.
The total fare (train fare + bed)
in a sleeping car is YTL63
for a single person alone in a private
compartment, or YTL48 per
person if two people share
a compartment.
There's also the later, slightly snazzier 9
Eylül Ekspresi (September
9th Express) leaving a few hours
later and hauling Pullman
cars,
a sleeping
cars and a dining car
