The Karesi Ekspresi (KAH-reh-see) night train is a slower night train between Izmir (Basmane) and Ankara.

It does not have sleeping cars.

The westbound train departs Ankara at 19:10 (7:10 pm) and arrives in Izmir (Basmane) at 10:12 (10:12 am) after a 15-hour journey.

The eastbound night train departs Izmir (Basmane) at 18:55 (6:55 pm) and arrives the next morning in Ankara at 10:33 (10:33 am) after a 16-hour journey.

The Karesi Ekspresi hauls one unreserved Pullman car, three reserved-seat Pullman cars, a "covered couchette" car, and a dining car.

A one-way/single ticket costs YTL18. If you'd like a covered couchette, add YTL6 per person.

For more comfort at higher fares, look at the 9 Eylül Ekspresi and the Izmir Mavi Tren.
