The Meram Ekspresi, named for Meram (meh-RAHM), a garden suburb of Konya, departs Istanbul (Haydarpasa) daily at 19:40 (7:40 pm) hauling unreserved compartment cars, reserved-seat Pullman cars, couchette cars, sleeping cars and a dining car.

It arrives in Konya the next morning at 08:21 am, a journey of 13:01 hours.

The westbound train departs Konya at 17:05 (5:05 pm) and arrives in Istanbul (Haydarpasa) the next morning at 06:30 am (12:40 hours).

A new high-speed train line between Polatli and Konya is under construction. The new line will allow much faster train times between Istanbul and Konya. The Meram Express may be removed from the schedules when the high-speed line is completed, but for now it is running, and offers an enjoyable and thrifty way to travel between Istanbul and Konya.

Please read this safety notice about sleeping car travel.
